I am new to OpenRoads (old Geopak user) and am not aware of all of it's conversion functions.yet. I use both, so I get stuck with converting files. ModelConverterX is primarily a tool that allows you to convert objects.

Ac3d model convert how to#
Or, it might just be easier if the people I worked with learned how to use MicroStation. AC import/export FlightGear models use inbuild File -> Import -> AC3D (.ac). Convert an Autocad Civil 3d sheet file (with xrefs/2d/3d/surfaces attached) and convert it to a sheet file DGN that looks the same.

I was certain there was a way for OpenRoads to take an ACC3D sheet file, with xrefs, open it, do a batch conversion and create separate DGN's, not several, but one DGN with all of the Xrefs converted to DGN linework so it creates one sheet file. I can go into the AutoCAD files, in each sheet file, to an AECEXPLODE, bind those xref files to that drawing sheet and then explode the linework but that is too time consuming. I would like to convert the whole sheet as ONE FILE, like the merge master function in MicroStation. What I essentially have is an AutoCAD Civil 3d sheet file that has several files attached to it, some have surfaces in them, some are 2d line work, some have blocks in them. I know this can be done as a coworker has done it with his OpenRoads program but he is very busy and out of the office. The Civil 3d sheet file has AutoCAD civil 3d files Xref'd into the sheet file so in a sense I want to do a merge master (like MicroStation does) into one file. I am trying to convert an AutoCAD Civil 3D sheet file into one file, like a DGN sheet file.

We've also featured the best AutoCAD to PDF converters. However, if you plan to develop a 3D your converted file further using a series of complicated models using advanced tools and filters, it may be better to aim for one of the higher range and more expensive modelling programs on our list.

When deciding which of the best 3D file converter to download and use, first consider if a free or budget software program will suit you fine. Which type of 3D file converter is best for you? See how we test, rate, and review products on TechRadar. The aim was to push each software platform to see whether it could simply and easily not just convert a range of content types but also do so faithfully and consistently without introducing errors. We then tested the service using a handful of files to see how the software could be used for converting different file formats. To test for the best 3D file converter we first set up an account with the relevant software platform, whether as a download or as an online service. Uploads and downloads are relatively speedy, although the limit of 50 MB for uploads can be problematic if you have large 3D files. Helpfully, if your model is split into multiple files, the batch upload can be used to provide Greentoken with all the necessary files at once. The online interface does support batch conversion, but you can only upload a maximum of five files at a time.

Notably, though, conversion to 3DP is not supported by Greentoken. You can convert files to STL, STLB, COLLADA, OBJ, 3DS, PLY, JSON, and X. What’s particularly nice about it is that it also supports a wider variety of outputs than other free tools. The platform can handle any of 52 3D file format inputs, including all of the most popular proprietary and neutral formats. Greentoken offers an impressive range of file support for a free online tool.
